The Command Captain ought to make a PA announcement so that you won't think that the FA is being lazy? Seriously?

You have it 180 degrees wrong.

The FA's job is all about safety. Mine, theirs, and yours. I care about me.

There is a service standard, some of which is part of the security & safety protocol of the carrier, e.g., pre-landing safety checks. Only the Captain may order the cabin crew to skip those.

Ask yourself whether any sane person would put their employment at risk in order to avoid a walk through the cabin looking for seatbelts, seatbacks, tray tables, and the stuff which some idiot insists on not putting under the seat or in an OH.
