Don't forget to also never rent from Avis again--it's the same company as Budget.

Might as well also avoid renting from Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty, since they have the same or worse transponder policies, and they make you deal with the PlatePass company for any toll issues. (I know; I've had to do so myself.)

Hopefully Enterprise doesn't tick you off or you might have to walk next time you go somewhere you'd normally rent a car.
I'll rent Alamo from now. I've rented from Avis and Hertz before and never had an issue with the transponder, though I realize many of these companies are intertwined.

It will be if the agent didn't fix it and I'd have to dispute it with the toll office. Time is money.

Your other option is to dispute the credit card charges if Budges doesn't do it in a timely manner.
So I went out and tried to rip the damn thing off the windshield but it wouldn't budge. I'll try again later (though I think it's basically too late at this point...will still have to deal with refund unless agent miraculously fixed it). Good call re dispute with cc company if Budget doesn't take care of it.
