I am not sure who enhanced what, but when I logged on to a future AA reservation on aa.com today, I was unexpectedly able to select a preferred seat without charge and also some other seats marked with a star ("for elite members," which otherwise are available for non-elites only 24 hours before the flight) were available for selection. Most likely this means that AA started to recognize my LA status. What is surprising though is that I was able to select preferred seats even though I'm only a OW Ruby. To my knowledge Ruby members are able to choose such seats without being charged only 24 hours before the flight as long as they are available. My status is not made explicit anywhere in my reservation on aa.com, though it does show up on Amadeus (IB/AB and the like).

In any case, a real enhancement thought it's not clear whether it is due to LA or AA.
