One additional weekly service? That's not 25 per cent on Manchester, as there are 4 flights a day I believe.
Although I agree the language in the article is unclear, my understanding from another source is that for MAN-FRA it would become 5 daily up from 4 daily atm.
For MAN-MUC (I am an occasional passenger on that route) it is currently 3 daily but I am not sure whether that would move to 4 daily.
CX do have direct flight to FRA but not to MUC. However, as you probably know CX's fairly new route to MAN is doing well and I think has seen a recent increase in frequency so I don't see any rationale for them deciding to route passengers on HKG-FRA-MAN rather than direct to MAN - so I still don't see why this LH/CX partnersip affects BA at all - the existing direct CX services to the UK already compete with BA's LHR-HKG.
