I am visiting Moscow in a few weeks and since the ballet ticket booking website does not take US credit cards, I asked if the hotel concierge could book the ticket for us. I gave them the exact website page and was told that they will charge a 20% markup for booking on my behalf. They also gave me an option to buy another "good location" ticket at 40% markup. Thanks but no thanks. I ended up using my parent's credit card issued in China to book the performance. But I want to ask, if this practice of adding 20% markup is normal?
