Yes, I did pay the 5 € fee. You can book at
www.start.de without a fee, but I wanted the 500 Points for each booking offered by payback. So you get 500 Points for 5 € and Opodo and Lufthansa are directly linked online. When I book a flight at opodo, I can see the information at once in my miles and more acount, and using the miles and more card as identification card for check in leaves less problems with crediting the earned miles in my account. Thanks for the information with the Germanwings flights. Having so much problems with the payback system getting the extra miles for each booking, I will not participate this time.
