I spoke with the head of operations at IcelandAir early yesterday. (This was before reading the thread again to see that this was generally a major snafu, with the requests here to
not call). CheapTickets had screwed up with my credit card billing, and the fare had gone. They suggested I call IcelandAir to see what could be done. Background.
Anyway, the women I spoke with verbally rolled her eyes

when I mentioned CheapTickets. Apparently, it was an upload error on their part (CT), and it had happened before. It may not be manual entry (likely not), but it seems to be a glitch in the CT software.
She also said that, as far as she knew, the fares would not be honored (but I'm sure that she doesn't have final say). In that case, it would be up to CT to honor them. If, as I saw in a previous post, there were about 60 FT'ers booking this (and not likely many "real" people

), this would amount to about 60 grand for CT. Might be tough for them, I would think.
Cheers.
