I never check luggage on that route (SEA-YVR-HKG), but every time I've checked in at the Alaska counter they ask me if I have any they want me to check all the way through. And coming back, it's the same way. CX will check your luggage all the way to the US if you want them too.
Thanks. I fly the YVR-HKG route a few times a year but until this trip I have always driven to and departed from YVR, so the transit there is new to me.

I know. At the time I joined I flew NW and lived in Iowa. But I've been able to answer every question I've had since then with a search, and every time I've thought to reply to someone else, the thread already seemed saturated.
