I also remember flying SEA-ANC on UA back in the early 1990s. I had a free UA domestic travel voucher. These vouchers were normally valid for travel in the contiguous 48 states. However, this voucher also had the wording "plus Alaska". As I wanted to use the voucher to take me as far as possible, I did a nice cold snowy weekend in ANC.
