It’s somewhat dishonest to sell the same seat twice, I would not want to delay the flight but the airlines should adopt a fair play policy and a sensible pragmatic approach that would be in everyone’s interest
If they did this people would complain that the cost of fares will be higher. Airlines overbook simply for the reason that it keeps costs lower. If they didnt overbook anything everyone would just moan about the cost of a ticket going up instead lol.
