It sounds like you had a noisy galley...how that relates to the soft product enhancements of Polaris, I don't understand. Then writing off all product enhancements as "gimmicks" is something I think is false.
I also don't understand you comparing United to SQ...I mean, we've been down this road ad naseum, but that's an unreasonable comparison. One could argue, however, that UA C now eclipses LH in terms of soft product. That means the gulf between UA and SQ isn't as large as you'd like it to be. Take it from somebody who just got back from HKG on SQ - it's a different service style that I don't necessarily think is "better" than UA (Western). Also the seat is wide, and I can't lie flat due to my height, or micro adjust the seat somewhere between bed and lounging ..so there's that.
You're either trying to antagonize me, you're a homer, or you're a die hard employee. You fail to address the main complaint which is the service from the people fails to match the other improvements. Without the improved service, the other changes definitely feel like gimmicks. Until the attendants buy in to providing a better experience, everything else is just trying to cover up poor service. You may like pizza down the street more than dinner at a 3 star Michelin restaurant, but you have to admit when you're in Daniel you feel like thaey want nothing more than to impress you with their service and make you want to tell your friends and also come back for more.
Also, you should definitely be comparing this product to other airlines, especially the best ones like SQ. Saying it's incomparable only solidifies that you're not interested in UA competing with the best. Which means you're content with them being
average to below-average at best.
I'll continue to critique their performance until significant improvements are seen.
