If you have the time to spare, I would suggest calling back every day or every other day. I booked my parents on open-jaw J from LHR>BOM, DEL>LHR on BA. When I first called, no avialability for any of the dates. Called daily for a week, and finally got tix outbound only. held them for 14 days, still to return, releasted them & immediately rebooked the outbound, then about 7 dyas later found return seats.
So it sure as hell ain't optimal, but was able to get them, and during the Chirstmass break to boot.
Its a good deal, 60k miles for J, b/c even coach costs $1000.

I think the deal is BA only releases the award seats now and then.
Also, if you have some flexibility, remember that you can always change dates withouth penalty, so grab good seats, and then try back to get better seats.
