I am due to fly next week on BA however my grandfather sadly passed away recently and so I can no longer travel as the funeral is on the same day. I called BA to see if they would consider refunding us, but they referred me to my travel insurance.
I have already rebooked these flights once before as my partner was not well enough to travel, at a cost of £120. I am just wondering if you think those change fees could also be claimable on the insurance as part of the cost of the tickets?
Again, sorry if this is too off topic, it's just there are a lot knowledgeable, experienced folk on here on these matters.
Thanks!
Tell BA you have no travel insurance and see how it goes. Only if BA refuse to help you should you take it up with your travel insurance.
