Two post-5/20 questions related to this new benefit. I'd appreciate any first hand experience with the following:
1) Any experience upgrading companions on awards? I'm assuming it's permitted and the exact same as a paid ticket (stickers required for companion).
2) What about BA Avios awards on AA flights. In the past (even before this policy) I've been successful in getting complimentary 500 mile upgrades at the airport. Provided my AAdvanatage number is added to the reservation, is it now possible to request/clear ahead of time on Avios bookings?
