I had 2 Polaris business and 2 Polaris first experiences recently, here are some of my observations:
- I was addressed by name on 1 of 4 flights (business) and only when taking meal orders
- All flights had menus and were correct to the best of my knowledge
- Business flights had the odd PDB tray, one of them with the chocolate, the first class flights didn't have the tray or chocolate (business flights were in May, first class was June)
- Meal service was SLOW on all flights, was more reasonably paced on the first class flights, but still way too slow, especially for TATL flights
- Food was still bad (I didn't know you could overcook shortribs, but they did)
- The whole tray thing is odd to me. Most FAs just held it up waiting for me to take it, doesn't seem premium
- Didn't open the amenity kits, don't really expect to
- Slippers and gel pillow were proactively offered on one flight (first class)
- Ice cream was offered on all flights, the toffee from Europe was gross. Caramel going to Europe was ok
- Macarons were pretty good and the mini apple pie things are AMAZING!
- Agree with cesco.g about the caramel squares being rock hard
Compared to SQ and CX, obviously UA lags, but the hard product served its purpose. I slept pretty well on all flights.
