Are you based in IST? If so, TK has a direct flight to Kigali. From there, Volcanoes N.P. is about a 2 hour drive, where the Gorilla tracking takes place. You'll probably need no more than 2 days of Gorilla tracking, so it's definitely doable (especially since the TK flight gets you into KGL at around midnight, so you can go straight to the lodge and gorillas later that morning if you and your wife are hearty travellers.)
FYI - in Rwanda, Gorilla permits have just been increased from $750 per person / per day to a whopping $1500. I don't anticipate it going down, either, so if you're wanting to do it on a budget, your only option would be to visit Bwindi I.F. in Uganda, which offers permits for less than half the amount that Rwanda requires.
I am based in Istanbul and really want to do the gorilla safari. i have thought about it but my wife was a little scared of long walks up to 5 hours a day. we decided to get a little more fit for it and do it next year. how is the safety in that area? any good luxury safari outfitters you can recommend?
