On paper it looks better I agree, but in real life the 3.5 v6 will get you more torque at lower rpm, hence more response to the gas pedals and better launch. You will see improved performance at higher rpm, but, if you live your life a quarter mile at a time and can only count 0-60 then you will understand.

Just as an added data point, got to my hotel tonight in North Carolina and parked next to another EHI Florida plated Fusion SE Hybrid. I know that I also saw 2 other Fusion SE Hybrids and 1 Fusion Titanium SE Hybrid at the Florida airport I picked up at. I suspect, but obviously can't confirm, that the 2017 Fusions in EHI's fleet are a higher proportion of Hybrids than last year. With gas prices as low as they are, they probably got a good deal.
Agree, since the start of 2017 I've seen more hybrids than ever. Even more then the Sonatas few years back.
