I've just returned this week from 6 nights at Singita Lebombo and Singita Ebony, and I agree 100% with the analysis KI-NRT provided in this thread:

- Lebombo's primary advantage over Ebony/Boulders is the food, which was consistently excellent, and which hosts a cooking school at which the chefs of the other Singita resorts train, as do others from local communities. The landscape at Lebombo is dramatic, more rugged than Sabi Sands.

- Otherwise, the service was consistently warmer and more polished / professional at Ebony.

- Game viewing is better at Ebony/Boulders, and the accommodation is larger and more impressive than at Lebombo. Most in our group preferred the colonial stylings of Ebony over the more contemporary approach of Boulders, but I felt the Boulders villas were the most impressive of the three we saw. Sweni is a construction site right now -- in the midst of a top-to-bottom renovation. We toured it and it will be much more like Lebombo than it was, but with bright jewel tones (oranges and greens), as opposed to Lebombo's neutral grays.

- The jeeps mostly kept the roofs on at Lebombo, so that they could cross the boundaries of the concession into Kruger proper, but always kept the roof off at Ebony/Sabi Sands, which we really enjoyed.

All in all, I found the South African Singitas more polished than the Tanzania ones, particularly in terms of service. Only Sasakwa is competitive with the South African lodges in design, food, service.
