I think I'd have to disagree - most posters are agreeing with the generality of his view that the BA CW seat is outdated / not cutting edge. Clearly some people are still happy with the seat and if you are in one of the 'prime' seats upstairs on the 744 or A380 or even the back of the cabin non-step-over seats that is understandable. There are always going to be detractors of any seat (foot coffins anyone?) and I daresay that BA regulars are entitled to their preferences. Also BA is at least consistent across the whole fleet, although the un-refurbished 744s and 777s are clearly sub-par with respect to the IFE, whereas a number of airlines still offer a bit of a lottery.
Where I have criticism is with the idea that BA installed something that was badly designed. Sure, there are deficiencies, but it was wrong of him to suggest that when the seat came out it was ill-considered. Of course if you weren't flying business class 20 or 30 years (or longer) ago you won't remember how things were. Most airlines had seats that compare badly with what they have in Premium Economy today. Who can remember the excitement of the first cradle seats?
I am firmly in agreement with those that suggest that the current BA management have either rested on their laurels for too long or simply underinvested in a new generation of seats for economic reasons. As such BA is getting left behind and compares unfavourably with some (but not all) of its competitors. If that was the point that the OP was trying to make, then I would largely agree. No issues there.
