Four Seasons Seattle

Four Seasons Seattle

Stayed: May 2017
Room Upgrade: Not offered. I queried and they said the next category room was not available. I had booked the basic Seattle-View room. After some typing, they offered a five-category upgrade for a decent chunk of change. I turned them down and asked again for just the basic upgrade. In the end, we negotiated the five-cat upgrade down to a reasonable price and I accepted. We stayed in an Elliot Bay Suite.
Early Checkin: Used
Late Checkout: Offered, only used about 20 minutes of it.
Daily Breakfast: $70 toward breakfast in Goldfinch Tavern on site.
Special Amenity: $100 USD food/beverage credit
Promotion: N/A

We enjoyed the hotel and the staff was very friendly. The room was large and overlooked the bay and pool. The mini bar has a complementary bottle of sparkling wine and they always take great care of our kids with welcome snacks and gifts. We try to stay at FS as much as possible mainly because of the way they welcome children. Be sure to let the hotel know the names and ages of the children before you arrive.

We spent some time in the pool and hot tub located outside on the 4th floor. They are both warm enough to use even on chilly days. Goldfinch Tavern was satisfying, but nothing stood out to us as exceptional. Everyone there was friendly and attentive. The room had two large (55in?) TVs that worked as Chromecast devices so I could put YouTube on for the kids. There were also plenty of outlets for charging our devices and a Bose Bluetooth speaker we could walk around with. The bathroom was large with a soaking tub, two sinks, a separate toilet, and a waterfall shower.

My only negative was service at the pool. It was a warm, sunny day and the staff wasn't prepared to deal with the 30 or so people on deck. We waited almost an hour for a beer, tonic water, and a veggie tray. When the water came, not much was said and we were handed just a can of tonic water sans lime or glass. Still missing the beer and veggie tray, I found the attendant and canceled those because we had to leave. About 30 minutes later, the services manager came to our room with the remaining items from our order as well as some juice and sparkling wine. He apologized and said the wine was free. It was a nice gesture, but we still ended up paying for the rest and were already geared up for dinner.

As I said, other than the food service at the pool, the hotel and staff were great. It is centrally located, sports nice views, has well-appointed rooms, and everything is within walking distance. We've stayed at the Hotel1000 and the Westin in Seattle, but FS is probably our favorite.
