I think the BA pilot might say it thusly: "I'm sorry, but I must offer my most sincere and humblest apology for the inadverdent premature separation of the wing from the aircraft fuselage. Please fasten your safety belts while we attempt to mend this extremely unfortunate contigency, posthaste. On behalf of the cabin crew and BA, I would like to thank you for continued loyalty and patronage."
