I can't reconcile these too statements I'm afraid. On the one hand you're criticising Ryanair for using smaller and more remote airports, whilst acknowledging that with BA you'd have to get yourself from Newcastle to Heathrow with the potential fun and games of a transfer there.
Last time I looked, Newcastle wasn't particularly local to London either.
