LUX-LHR-TYO-AMS can still be had for less than 400 euros. Last year I booked LUX-LHR-HND-ITM-OKA-ITM-HND/NRT-LHR/LGW-AMS and dropped the last leg. Cost me only £310 (before euro plunged in value) - longhauls were on BA.
