IME it depends on the carrier. I was unable to have the QF operated F lounge check me in for my CX F flight. I had to wander down to the gate to get my boarding pass. I made sure to check in for my flight ahead of time the next time as I didn't like this extra transit (and subsequent waiting in line). Yes I was connecting from AS.
