Driving does not take 30-40 minutes longer, it "can" take 30-40 minutes longer. The problem is traffic, accidents, etc. A substantial percentage of my driving trips from PDX to SEA (25%) have been held up an extra hour because of rush hour traffic, accidents, or in one case, a potential bomb.

If I want to make my meeting and drive, I have to leave 4 hours beforehand. I can do any work in my car, and frankly, it's very tiring.

I'd like to take Amtrak, but the earliest train gets in after noon, making it unacceptable for a day trip (unless all your meetings are between 1 pm and 4 pm). AmTrak could clean up if they ran an express that left PDX at 7 am and got in before 10 am.

That leaves Horizon, which is too **** expensive. If I'm traveling solo, driving costs over $100 anyways, I'll pay the extra $50 and fly. I can fly to SJC, SFO, LAX, occasionally LAS, all for $150 or less. Why can't Horizon operate a 128 mile shuttle for that price & turn a profit?
