If you buy a hotel night off of Hotwire, and then the hotel makes a mistake on the bill and charges you an extra $25, would you ask Hotwire to refund $25 for someone else's mistake that they had nothing to do with? Or would you ask the hotel to fix the mistake?

Why can't OP ask American to refund the baggage fee?
