Although Amex is definitely APITA, the 5x offer on gas points is pretty compelling. I will probably buy a couple, with a 2% credit card, and liquidate for a 2% fee by paying income taxes. So, cost/benefit will basically be the delta btwn the GC fee and the total gas savings attributable to the purchase.
