TPS isn't interesting enough to "try" when there's an alternative. Someday you'll need to stay in a location where there's only a TPS (or TPS is by far the cheapest either on money or points), and that's the time to try it.

I stayed at TPS once in one place where it was the cheapest on money that night, and I experienced milk at the breakfast that had soured. Then I stayed several years later at another TPS on the other side of the country in a town where that was the only Marriott property, and it was OK but nothing memorable.

I'd definitely go for the FFI for the better breakfast if it were me in this situation.
