especially if you have a second passenger, i would suck it up and do the 405 to the 22. the trick with friday afternoons is getting as close to your desitination as possible before everything stops up. in other words, in the absence of additional intel, i'd advise against driving due east just to catch a freeway that *may* be less congested than the 405.
the disneyland bus is also certainly worth a look; it's free (i think) and someone else does the driving.
