A most unsatisfying lunch attempt at T5F lounge today, ended up eating at the Galleries above. I am not usually one to complain about these things but I just have to post this.

At F lounge, there was only mixed leaves, cucumbers and some sad looking tomatoes. No potato salad, coleslaw, beetroot, etc. unlike in the Galleries. There was a small, bland pot of "couscous" (not really) and the rest of the space usually for the missing salad items was occupied by the sandwiches which used to be on the side by the drinks.(that area now empty)

With such the very basics of a salad bar I looked at the hot items. Potatoes, peas, beef goop, "gnocchi" (not really), seafood arancini, pork belly. Pork belly seems to be a fan favourite (cheap but good) and the arancini was OK (too garlicky) but the entire selection looked more like a decent school canteen than one of the flagship lounges. IS a decent chicken or fish option really too expensive for you BA?

The taco (?) bar or whatever that had been set up (close to where the soup station used to be, presumably enhanced as couldn't see it) was not properly stocked and the few.items there didn't look appetizing. Tried a few sandwiches in frustration, salmon OK, corranoation chicken not great (too sweet, too much filler hardly any chicken), ham wasn't good. Skipped the egg, wished there was just a simple cheese or better yet simple chicken option.

Gave up, went upstairs. Tomato pepper soup, good. Full salad bar, good. Chicken goop very good, just dont look at it(!), altough second serving was Indian (real) scale spicy.
Same beef goop as dowstairs (?), very very overcooked penne, not talking an extra minute or two this thing seemed to have been boiled for 30 minutes, overcooked but edible rice. A.perfectly acceptable experience if I were Silver, except I am not.

I last had lunch at T5F in Feb and it was nowhere near as bad, just same as has been for a few years now, and not worth a rant. But today was really a poor display. Are these changes permanent? Will Galleries also suffer from same?
