Thanks for the review!

You mentioned that your Ocean Suite had walkways on both sides, and from the pic you posted seemed less private & remote. Just a head's up for anyone visiting in the future, the Ocean Suites have a pretty widely varying range of privacy--so check out multiple ones if occupancy is low enough to allow.

I found the following review on the web (https://quantitativetravel.wordpress...n-at-amankila/). I'm not familiar with the reviewer, but they included an Amankila map in the review, which is helpful.

If you look at the map, on the far left side there is a "column" of villas--these border a valley, so have complete privacy on one side (but note that that is where the villas are being built, so this won't last). These are villas 6, 7, 11, and 19.

This past March I stayed in suite #7 , and it was incredibly private. Whilst suite #6 looks close, it was actually about 40 feet away, and about 30 feet lower in elevation. And our walkway was only shared with #6 , so we very private.

That's another advantage of being on the valley side--these suites are actually treehouses. As in ours was on pillars that were probably 25 feet above the ground on one side, and 40 feet above the ground on the other (#7 is perched both on hill as well as on the side of the valley).

Then of course the higher up the better the ocean view.

Some people recommend the Ocean Suites with the best ocean views (34? 36?), but my recommendation would be to get a suite on the valley side.
