Just stayed here over memorial weekend.. a beautiful property. Stayed in the Griffin club. Regular room, no additional upgrade as a platinum.

Our room overlooked the Sea of Cortez, which although appeared to be calm, we were warned from swimming in because of enormous waves that crash the beach. It was a curious sight: miles of beach in either direction with nary a soul either in the water or enjoying the sands.

Of course, it wasn't an issue thanks to the hotel's six enormous infinity pools and whirlpools. There are 300 rooms at the property but because there are also so many areas to sit and swim, it never felt very busy at all - and this was on a holiday weekend.

Upon entering the open-air lobby, the ocean is the only thing that can be seen as we walked into the hotel. We could feel the breeze of the ocean rushing past. After being taken to our room, we were introduced to the "butlers" who would be looking after us. They really lived up to their assigned titles and over the course of our three days couldn't do enough for us, always on hand to get drinks or food and generally being a point-of -contact, a friendly face throughout our stay.

A few hours after we had arrived, I decided that a spa treatment would be the ultimate way to relax and unwind. My wife and I enjoyed a couple’s massage that saw us both having a body scrub and. The entire experience is set to soothing music that becomes almost hypnotic at times. This is the second time in a year I have had a spa treatment so I knew a little more about what to expect, but I almost certain I dozed off for a minute or two as the whole process was so thoroughly relaxing. After the "physical" aspect of the treatment you are then left to your own devices to bathe in a multitude of spas, whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms. I felt very clean afterwards and my skin felt extremely soft!

Later that night, we enjoyed dinner at one of the hotel's four restaurants, Cafe Des artistes. The menu is French-Mexican although the seafood is a speciality. The setting is also perfect overlooking one of the hotel's pools. As we dined we could hear the sounds of the waves crashing along the beach and that of a pianist playing from inside the dining room. The food was excellent with my wife declaring she had eaten "the best risotto ever!"

The following morning we enjoyed breakfast in the hotel's Griffin Club. This is in a part of the hotel that is reserved for guests that wish to have breakfast, drinks and snacks all-day-long included as part of their overall price. The benefit can become an addictive one as me and my wife seemed to consume endless portions of chips and salsa along with numerous other equally moreish snacks.

After spending the morning poolside, we decided to check out the other side of Cabo and head to Cabo San Lucas. Taxis are extremely expensive costing at least $65 each way for the 40 minute trip so I ended up hiring a car from the hotel for just $85.

There really is no need to leave the property at any point. For those seeking seclusion and relaxation, the destination is perfect. With six restaurants to choose from at the hotel, there is no shortage of options.
