I would say this is a particularly useful post since it gives a realistic overview as to what to expect, from start to end.

One thing that comes across very well here is staying on top of the issue by not letting time slip by and sticking to your guns. In this particular case I think I would have gone for MCOL, since the timeframes are dictated by the courts, but as it happens you were saved from the expense and (minor) hassle involved.
