Today, I thought I might need to do a round-trip day trip tomorrow, and Saver awards were available for 7.5k each way in coach (6750 after citi rebate) so I booked the two one-ways.
20 minutes later, I no longer needed to do the trip, so I called to cancel and redeposit.
But, during that intervening 20 minutes, I received both the ticketing confirmation emails and "upgrade confirmed" emails -- indicating auto requests and auto no-hassle upgrades. Really a great perk, esp. when combined with free EXP cancel & redeposit.
