Location
Located across from the Hanoi Opera House, the hotel is in the city's French Quarter. It's a nice location near upscale shopping. A number of tourist destinations as within walking distance, such as Hoan Kiem lake, the old town, and the Hoa Lo "Hanoi Hilton" prison.

Rooms
Our room each time was clean, spacious, and well-furnished. Our only complaint about anything from either of our stays is that the sixth floor hallway smelled somewhat fishy, but that smell did not invade our room.

Status Recognition
We're merely Hilton Honors Gold, but I found the status recognition to be excellent. We received upgrades to executive rooms on both stays, free tea and other non-alcoholic beverages in the lobby for part of the afternoon, a fruit plate in our room, and a nice welcome note. We also received free breakfast, which we could have in either the lounge or the restaurant.

Lounge/Breakfast
The lounge here is quite good. The lounge is located on the top floor and overlooks the opera house. There are plenty of tables for 2-4 people, as well as a few sofas. Breakfast in the morning consists of a small buffet and a selection of several menu items, with both western and asian food options at both the buffet and on the menu. We were generally pleased with the food quality and enjoyed the fresh juice and vietnamese coffee. They also have an evening happy hour, with a small selection of beverages and buffet items.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would certainly return.
Interesting you got upgraded as gold. I have a stay coming up and was considering this property but started leaning towards the HGI because it as cheaper and it was suggested I might get better status recognition there.
