I'd say
1) DCA-LAX-HNL or
2)JFK-LAX-HNL (can book whole way on 767 with D1 JFK-LAX if you book flights at right times). or
3)BOS-SFO-LAX-HNL (not always a fare available using this routing, but have seen it).

4)any Caribbean routing to JFK continuing to HNL.
