Continuing the theme, I'd suggest Prague! I've just spent three days there at a conference and meetings, with a day of sightseeing tacked on the end - beautiful architecture, lots to see, and good food and beer.
If it's just the weekend I'd stick to Europe. I was in Zurich a few weeks ago - picturesque city, lots to do (particularly if you like walking/running in the hills and by the lake), but a tad expensive. You also can't really go wrong with the classic destinations - Madrid, Paris, London, etc. Iberia flies direct from EDI to MAD if you want to fly Oneworld but avoid a connection.
