One thing to consider here is that AA has recently devalued their chart. CXs redemption chart hasn't changed for....2 decades maybe?
I have no inside knowledge but don't bank on that CX redemption chart staying the same for much longer.
Ugh ... i didn't even consider that! I guess I take it for granted that AM chart will stay the same. But yeah, now that you mention it, it's been the same since my first flight with CX. I guess I thought (well, more like hoping) that with miles expiring after 3 yrs there is no need to devalue but then again, kf miles also expires and that didn't stop SQ from devaluing it recently. I hope CX will give advance notice unlike this AA earning devaluation!
