If you're purely on a cancellation process now, to be frank it's just going to be a straightforward refund without much customer empathy, with approx. 250,000 people affected by this outage then rightly or wrongly there isn't much scope for more than this. If you're going this route then by all means ask for EC261 as well as the refunded tickets, but it will be a fairly business like transaction on the BA side, in my experience.
