You have had a bad experience and very little can be said to fix that now, the damage was done yesterday. I can't recall any event like this in BA's history, and I've been around a long time. So unprecedented is the right word here. However if you want to go to CDG then that should be possible, try the Bremen number if you like. I imagine you don't want to leave your bags behind, but you can buy what you need and charge it to BA. The bags will get to you, it may take a couple of weeks however.
