Just some recon from the May long weekend...

Line-ups at Tacofino around the lunch period were insane. One trick that worked well was calling in the order. Still had to wait 20 minutes though but otherwise likely would have been close to 45-60 minutes to wait in line, order, and wait for the food.

One alternative we found was the Surfside Grill "shack" by the Pacific Sands Resort. Not as good as Tacofino but there was next to no line-up. The fish tacos are fairly similar with a battered whitefish, salsa topping, etc but used a corn tortilla that didn't hold up well.

Tofino Brewing was also packed. Nice range of beers available.

Port Alberni has a (relatively new?) craft brewery, Twin City Brewing. They have a nice building and were fairly busy. Didn't love their selection of brews though. They also served some pizzas.
