I realized that when I said Marriott/property it was misconstrued (and I missed that it was at a Ren). I meant file a formal thing (even if via email) w/ the property so that if the iPad does turn out to be damaged, there's a record. While Marriott (aka, the property) should pay for repair/replacement due to it being the hotel's broken pipe that caused the damage (aka, if it doesn't work), if they fight it then you've got some documentation for your own insurance company if you decided to file a claim.
