Does having a 3 year old on the PNR cause an issue with GPU, I recall reading somewhere that having a lap child causes the system to skip you. I know a 3 year old is not a lap child, they will have their own seat - curious if there's something I need to be aware of.
also I was read on another thread that the GPU sponsor's status is not inherited on the upgrade priority list, is that true ? I thought that was not the case. I am a 1K but wife and child have no status, so that'll put them at the bottom of all premiers. Anyway to push them higher?

Use to fly this route often for work. Just as Kacee stated the playing the W game is risky and I at least some UA "status" fwiw. I got burned too many times in the last year on buying W on TATLs (mostly SFO-FRA/HAM) and applying GPUs only to have them not clear. Having said that I tried buying W on a redeye SFO-CLE flight for this weekend. Bought it months ago, immediately applied and RPU, and it still hasn't cleared......with my luck I doubt it will.
