When WorldPoints came out, I called MBNA about swapping my LSU alumni affinity card for the WorldPoints card. The agent told me that wasn't necessary, that they could put WorldPoints on the existing card. And they did. I asked if they could do the same with my other MBNA cards -- LL Bean and AAA and was told no, that only some cards could be linked to WorldPoints. It is not a low rate card (12.99), but I pay in full every month so it doesn't really matter.
