Wife and 3 year old child will be on SFO<>SIN, I plan to get them W fares and waitlist for GPU. I won't be traveling with them.

Does having a 3 year old on the PNR cause an issue with GPU, I recall reading somewhere that having a lap child causes the system to skip you. I know a 3 year old is not a lap child, they will have their own seat - curious if there's something I need to be aware of.

also I was read on another thread that the GPU sponsor's status is not inherited on the upgrade priority list, is that true ? I thought that was not the case. I am a 1K but wife and child have no status, so that'll put them at the bottom of all premiers. Anyway to push them higher?
