Quebec has long-standing legislation in place on political party and election financing brought in by René Lévesque in the PQ's first government (1976-1981). First province to do so.
Union/corporate donations have been severally limited for years. Of course, no business owners or union leaders would dare ask their staff/members to make personal donations to a party and find a way to reimburse the amount to them
Not sure much of a reaction will come of it. The unions already run things here pretty much as they wish.
