I must admit, I always get so excited when there is a small problem in a US hotel. I was at a DFW hotel a few years back, in December. It was just an overnight, for a flight the next morning and the heater in the room wasn't working. I called them and they apologised and offered me a new room. I was satisfied and thought that was end of story. But no. First they put me in a suite. They offered me breakfast, but then noticed I got free breakfast, so they said I could order anything from room service for dinner, and gave me vouchers for drinks at the bar and gave me enough points for a night's stay at that property. I mean, honestly, I found it all unnecessary, but I'm not complaining. :-p Compared to European properties where they would act like they are doing you a huge favour just to move you to another room.
