I just got to CAI from DFW on Etihad (Through AUH). Great flight on F. Except that when we got to Cairo found that our 2 bags didn't make it.
You would think that since you have your bags claim tags it would be a relatively easy way to find out were your bags are, right? Not with Etihad!
First, they don't have a baggage office in Cairo (at least not in terminal 3 were we landed). There is NO ONE there to report your missing bags.
Trying to call the local Etihad number in Cairo proved to be completely useless. They don't have a clue and told us they don't have a way to track the bags (???).
Called their main number in Abu Dhabbi and they told us that they are in reservations and therefore unable to track our bags. Gave us the number of their bag department, and even though it is supposed to be a 24/7 number, no one is answering. (it is 3 am here in Cairo). So, so far no one able to give us any information about the whereabouts of our bags.
Etihad may be a great airline if everything goes right, but if something goes wrong, their costume service leaves a lot to be desired.
