SPG Plat here. Checked in, was offered a junior suite. Not bad, but not great either since I'm paying > $500/night.

No internet in the room, except from the meeting network. Front desk, understaffed with only two people, suggests I turn off my devices (phone, tablet, laptop) and try again. I tell them it's a network issue, they want to connect me to a third party tech support, which also cannot provide a password to the only network that reaches my room.

Duty manager is unable to provide a password for the meeting network. I go to the lobby to send/receive email.

Three calls to SPG Ambassador and the only possible resolution is a new room the next day at 3PM.

I walked. I'm at the Ritz Carlton.

Nice enough rooms. Weird access. Vastly understaffed with mostly clueless staff. There is no chance I was the only person to experience this problem. In fact, I'd experienced it on a previous visit. Since that was a personal trip, it didn't matter as much. This time it was a deal breaker.

I will not be returning and have canceled three future bookings. These things just don't happen at the Park Hyatt (which was sold out this time).

This hotel could be great, but it's not even good now.
