New User but long time lurker. I was able to redeem points for an Alaska Airlines gift card. Had to call in and it took about a week for the reimbursement to show up.

I also was able to get my annual fee waived (no spend in the last year) by asking whether I needed to use all my points before closing out the account. The CSR asked me if I would be interested in a fee waiver.
